Summary
First electrician, then geophysics Engineer, now I am a Computational Developer.
What does it mean ?
It means that I am competent for programming calculations, applying statistical processing, managing data problematics, and generally speaking any work implying to be competent in applied mathematics AND programming (time-frequency analysis, wavelet analysis, statistical learning, etc…).
A significant part of my engineer course focused on data processing methodologies and solving inverse problems.
With years working in software engineering, I have had to widen my set of competence to include more deep skills beyond programming and math, such as “Need analysis” and methodology. This brought me to teach me useful knowledge such as Domain Driven Design (DDD), DevOps, Extreme Programming (XP), Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), or Living Documentation.
I am technolgy-agnostic : it means I do not wish to focus on a single programming language, a single framework, a single database technology … what really matters, for the success of the product, is to pick and maintain a technology stack consistent and aligned with the business requirements .
However I have experience in C#/F# (.NET, MathNET), Python (Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, ObsPy, …), Matlab, SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle, …), and also learned on my free time Rust and Julia.
My career and educational path is quite diverse and atypical, which gives me a wide open mind and general knowledge which permits me to face problems from several fields and several angle. Curiosity is my dominant character trait, and leads me to dedicate much of my free time to technology watch.
